Indian Rummy

Indian Rummy
Indian Rummy is a popular card game played with 2 to 6 players. It is played with two standard decks of cards and two jokers per deck. The aim of the game is to form rows or groups of cards and discard all your cards on the table to win the game.

Game preparation

Two standard decks of 52 cards are used and cards are dealt to each player.
Each player gets 13 cards.
The rest of the cards are placed face down on the table as a deck, while the top of the deck is turned face up to mark the start of the discard pile.

The goal of the game

The goal is to form groups of cards in rows (at least 3 cards of the same character in consecutive order) or groups (at least 3 cards of the same number but different characters).

Game flow

On his turn, a player may take a card from the top of the deck or from the discard table. After taking a card, the player must discard one card from his hand to the top of the table.
Players try to form sets or groups with the cards they are dealt and can change them during their moves.
Jokers can be used as substitutes for any card in a sequence or group.

Game over

When the player succeeds in forming all the cards into rows or groups and discards the last card on the table, the game ends.
The other players then count the points according to the cards left in their hands.
Face cards have a point value (eg king - 10 points, joker - 0 points), while numbered cards carry points according to their face value.

Indian Rummy is a game of strategy, combinatorics and speed of thinking. The winner is the player who manages to form all the cards in rows or groups first and discards the last card on the table, while the other players' points are added according to the remaining cards in their hands.
